Creator of the Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Unit (UCTMI) that operates at Hospital Quirón, in San Rafael and at the HM Modelo medical center. He is also the creator and current director of the Uniportal thoracoscopy video training program at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, China (world's largest thoracic center with 10).

He is a member of multiple editorial committees, supervises numerous scientific journals and was coordinator of the congress committee of the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery (SECT) from 2014 to 2017. He also collaborates with educational activities of the European Society (ESTS), EACTS and the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS). He has held the Board of Thoracic Surgery (FECTS) of the European Society of Thoracic Surgery (ESTS) since 2010. He is a member of numerous scientific societies with which he collaborates annually. One of them is the prestigious American Association of Thoracic Surgery (AATS), where it was elected youngest member of that society in 2016.
